5- Harmful foods for the brain

We often avoid certain foods because fat because they make us look swollen or because we raise cholesterol. Or make changes in your diet to reduce the risk of hypertension or heart disease. But did you ever think of foods that are harmful to our brains ? As consumers we must be aware of the importance of choosing healthy, nutritious meals that contribute to our overall well being, including our brain.

Harmful foods for the brain


According to an article , there are 5 foods neurons that affect us and that we should keep away from our course:

Trans fats : They alter metabolic processes, hardening arteries. Are said to be the most dangerous, even more than saturated. 

Saturated fats : These are the plugs causing the arteries.

Excess sugar : Prevents proteins to function the right way, by aging the arterial system. Eliminate from your diet sugar grams do not need.

Syrup : The syrups such as maple, or maple syrup , make proteins not work as expected, leading to obesity and other diseases. You must consume sporadically.

Whole foods that are not . Whole grains have more fiber and make you feel satisfied for longer, but there are foods that have the characteristic brown color because they add molasses or dyes, not for its high fiber content, but are not 100% comprehensive.

What should you eat to help your brain?


In general, foods that are good for the heart also are on the brain . And among them are oats, which fights stress, improves concentration and helps to control cholesterol levels and blood sugar, key to brain health; yogurt, which helps regenerate the intestinal flora and improve mood , the bluefish , its content of omega-3 helps slow cognitive decline; blueberries have a high content of polyphenols and recommend to combat oxidative stress, soybeans, improving spatial orientation, relieves disorders bringing menopause and helps prevent arteriosclerosis; sprouts contain sulforaphane, a neuroprotective antioxidant with anticancer properties , coffee, green tea and black to enhance memory and increase blood flow to the brain chocolate.
