4 Homemade mosquito repellent recipes

Mosquitoes are annoying creatures that exist in most areas of the world with standing water and vegetation. Unfortunately, the easiest and most effective method to repel mosquitoes is to use DEET, a toxic chemical. There are several companies that manufacture repellent natural mosquito, but most are not cheap. Luckily, there are many homemade recipes mosquito repellent available.


Homemade mosquito repellent


Mosquito repellent garlic


Ingredients
  • Garlic chopped
  • Mineral oil
  • Lemon juice   
Procedure
  1. Cut a few garlic cloves and cover with mineral oil.
  2. Let sit for at least 24 hours.
  3. Then take a teaspoon of oil and mix with 2 cups water and 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice.
  4. Strain and pour into a spray bottle. Shake well before each use.

Mosquito repellent lemon eucalyptus



Ingredients
  • Oil of lemon eucalyptus
  • Sunflower oil or Hammamelis   

Procedure
  1. Mix one part essential oil of lemon eucalyptus for every 10 parts of sunflower oil or witch hazel.
  2. Rub or spray on skin.

Mosquito repellent lavender


Ingredient
  • Fresh lavender (flower)   
Procedure
  1. Rub a flower lavender behind the ears, wrists and neck.
  2. Not only smell great but mosquitoes will leave you alone.

Mosquito repellent vanilla

Ingredient

  • Vanilla extract
Procedure
  1. Apply some vanilla extract or vanilla essence to your pulse points.
