If the mildew remains persist in shoes, clean them with a solution of one part vinegar and one of water. To apply the solution, take a soft cloth, moisten well, and applying a little pressure, gentle movements performed on the surface of the shoe to remove mildew stains.

If the shoes are suede or Nubuck and are not very dirty, it is best to only carve with a brush being careful not to damage the material. But if the shoes are very dirty or mildew stains do not go away, then you can use a special suede cleaner following the product instructions.
