Eucalyptus and Rosemary Deodorant Homemade

Deodorants or antiperspirants are one of the essential hygiene products we all need. Most of us have tried several different brands in an attempt to find the ideal that meets all requirements. If you want a totally natural product, with a handful of easily recognizable ingredients (not a list of 20 ingredients of which has never heard) that is effective without causing stains or harmful side effects. Also containing real fragrances and definitely not and certainly without synthetic toxins or chemicals copies. All this without costing an arm and a leg. Sounds impossible? Well we'll see.




Deodorants are mainly used for odor control and not to remove sweat. Our body odor is caused by the bacterial decomposition of sweat. The ingredients in deodorants are designed to eliminate or mask the odor caused by bacteria.

Antiperspirants are designed to prevent blocking our body produces sweat to reach the surface of the skin. The main active ingredient that has caused worldwide controversy is aluminum. An ingredient that blocks the pores in order to prevent sweat to pass through. Aluminum is a much discussed and debated ingredient found in many brands of antiperspirants and when mixed with sweat results in these spots and unsanitary yellowish sweat on our shirts.


Deodorant ingredients


Coconut oil

Coconut oil is great for skin, its antibacterial and soothing properties make it an excellent ingredient to fight odor and keeping our skin soft and nourished.

Beeswax

The main reason for using beeswax is to give substance to deodorant and make a solid foundation. Beeswax can also be useful to help perspiration problems.

Shea butter

Shea butter is a natural skin softener that also has healing properties so it is effective against any cuts or marks on the skin during shaving.

Clay

This adds a layer of protection to keep you dry unpleasant sweat before it touches your clothes, which often leaves unwanted stains. While the clay is effective, it will not function the same as an antiperspirant with aluminum, which is harmful and should be avoided. Clay is a beneficial ingredient used in many beauty products so it is not wasted once purchased.

Rosemary

Is a rosemary essential oil ideal for deodorants, since it is has antibacterial, antiseptic, antioxidant and astringent properties. Some other good reasons to have Rosemary is to help relieve dandruff, coughs, colds, diarrhea, fluid retention, migraine, muscular aches, sinus problems and is a natural insect repellent .

Rosemary blends well with basil, bergamot, black pepper, cedarwood, cinnamon, citronella, eucalyptus, frankincense, geranium, grapefruit, lavender, lemon, mandarin, marjoram, oregano, peppermint, pine, tea tree and thyme.

Eucalyptus

This oil has many beneficial properties and makes an excellent addition to a deodorant. In this case, it is antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic and has healing qualities that make it beneficial. Eucalyptus is popular for treating blisters, burns, chills, cough, colds, insect bites, skin infections, headaches, fever and infections of the throat and muscle aches.

Eucalyptus blends well with cedarwood, chamomile, cypress, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, juniper, lavender, lemon, marjoram, peppermint, pine, rosemary and thyme.

Here is the recipe for homemade deodorant and antiperspirant that can fulfill all your requirements:


Deodorant Recipe Rosemary and Eucalyptus


To replace oil or add some extra just make sure the total added essential oils are 20 to 25 drops. For example, tea tree oil, lavender, alĂ­bano, bergamot, lemon, ylang ylang and orange are good additions or alternatives to deodorant or review the list of alternatives to rosemary and eucalyptus.

Ingredients


  • 4 tablespoons of Coconut Oil
  • 1 or 1 1/2 tablespoons grated beeswax
  • 1 tablespoon Shea
  • 4 tsp clay (such as bentonite)
  • 10 to 12 drops of essential oil of rosemary
  • 10 to 12 drops of essential oil of Eucalyptus
  • An old deodorant container and clean

Method


  1. Add the beeswax and coconut oil in a saucepan and melt begins to simmer, stirring frequently.
  2. Once melted, add shea butter and stir a few times while it off the fire.
  3. Allow the mixture to merge and finish when fully liquid begins to sprinkle the clay slowly until everything is well mixed.
  4. Add the rosemary and stir, then add the eucalyptus and continue stirring until completely incorporated.
  5. Put the pan in a cold water bath for 5 minutes or until liquid begins to thicken, but still with a consistency that can be poured.
  6. Remove from water bath and start to put your deodorant on your container with a spoon. Fill the container completely.
  7. Place in freezer 30 minutes or until firm and deodorant is ready.

Advice



  • When the weather is warm deodorant may start to melt, place in the freezer to harden in the fridge 
  • Their deodorant Do not store in direct sunlight, but in a cool, dark place.
