Causes and treatment of uterine fibroids

Today we will know the causes and treatment of uterine fibroids , also called leiomyomas . There are malignant, ie cancerous, and can vary in size, as small as a pea or even 15 centimeters wide.



The myomas or fibroids , uterus occurs, may be within it, on the wall or outside it. They are made of cells and tissues. Between 20 and 80% of women will have uterine fibroids, but not all will know. How are older, more likely to contract them.

Symptoms of fibroid tumors

Treatment of uterine fibroids


Fibroids can be treated with medication to avoid the large amount of blood lost during menses and in their midst, but also resort to surgery because usually a woman who is medicated when making suspended remedies again suffer the same problem, the fibroid grows or appears again.

The endometrial ablation uses heat and is an option, but not definitive for fibroids that develop outside the uterus, there is also the risk of becoming infertile .

The hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) is an alternative that yields a final solution, but its side effects include the inability to have children and when the ovaries are removed, the woman enters the menopausal stage.
