How to keep vegetables fresh longer

The salads are prepared in advance seem to lose their freshness very quickly. It is very convenient to have the salad ready to eat, learn some tricks to keep your vegetables fresh longer.

1. Dried vegetables Wrap in towel and place in a paper bag. This works very well with lettuce and celery.

2. After cutting a tomato or onion , wrap in a paper towel and place in a plastic bag.

3. Maintain fresh and crunchy carrots wrapped in a sealed plastic bag to prevent evaporation or store in an airtight container. They can last up to a week.

4. The potato, onion, ginger, garlic and sweet potatoes should be stored in a dark place (or in an opaque bag) because sunlight makes sprout. Ironically bright light is in store, but not the best.

5. Most plant keeps its freshness longer if left whole and uncut as they lose less moisture.

6. If using lettuce previously washed in bags, simply place a paper towel inside the bag and seal.

Advice

This trick also works with cheese. Place cheese (with or without envelope) in the sandwich bag and place a paper towel between the casing and cheese.
This idea also works with ice cream that is not a "frost". Simply place a paper towel in the container of ice cream.
Beware of paper towels, especially if they leave "fluff." Always rinse the vegetables before use.
Be sure to wash the containers often because it is easy to contaminate fresh food with the used containers.
